This policy explains what data the ¿Cuándo fue? (“When was it?”) application (“the app”) handles, why, where it is stored and what rights you have. In short: your garden is stored in the cloud so you don’t lose it and can share it with your household; only you and the people you invite can see it. There are no ads or third-party analytics, and we don’t sell or hand over your data. If you have any questions, write to spinolabss@gmail.com.

Data we process
Your account. The first time you open the app, an anonymous guest account is created, with a random identifier that says nothing about you. If you choose Continue with Google, your Google email address, name and profile photo are linked to that account. We never see or store your Google password.
Your garden. What you write and do in the app:
- The tasks you create: name, category, how often you want to do them, their reminders and how their plant looks.
- Each time you mark a task as done: the date, who did it and, if you add one, a note.
- The garden’s achievements, seeds and counters.
- Your household’s name and your member card: first name, colour and, if you use Google, your profile photo.
- The invitations you create or use to share a household (code, household, who invited, expiry and who redeemed it).
- Technical dates of your account: when it was created, whether you’ve seen the welcome screens and which household is active.
Please don’t write health data or other sensitive data about anyone in tasks or notes: the app doesn’t need it.
Technical data. For the account to work and be secure, Firebase (Google) processes your IP address and technical connection data when you sign in and sync.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
We use this data only to provide the service you ask for: storing your garden, syncing it across your devices, sharing it with the members of your household and recovering it if you change phones by linking your Google account. The legal basis is the performance of the contract you accept by using the app (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
We don’t use your data for advertising, we don’t profile you and we don’t sell it. The app includes no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
Who can see your data
- The members of your shared household, if you join one or invite someone: they see the tasks, the history (who did what and when, with their notes), the achievements and each member’s card. Sharing requires a Google account. If you don’t share, only you can see your garden.
- Google (Firebase), as data processor: it hosts the database (Cloud Firestore) and handles sign-in (Firebase Authentication) on our behalf. You can read how it handles data in Privacy and Security in Firebase. Google’s servers may be outside the European Economic Area; those transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
- Google Sign-In: if you use it, Google identifies you under its own privacy policy.
We don’t share data with anyone else, unless required by law.
Data stored only on your phone
- An offline copy of the garden, so the app works without Internet.
- This phone’s settings: reminders, appearance, music and vibration.
- Home screen widgets: the names of the upcoming tasks and when they’re due, to show them without opening the app.
- Reminders: they are scheduled on the phone itself; we don’t use server-sent notifications.
Permissions
- Notifications: to let you know when a plant is thirsty. If you don’t grant it, the app works the same, without alerts.
- Run at startup: to reschedule reminders after you restart your phone.
- Internet: to store and sync your garden.
Backups, invitations and sharing
- Export backup creates a file with your tasks and their history and opens Android’s share menu: you decide where to save it or who to send it to. Import backup only reads the file you pick.
- When you invite someone, the app creates a single-use code that expires after 48 hours and lets you share the link through any app you like. That sending is governed by that app’s privacy policy.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have the account. If you delete it from the app, your account, your profile and the households where you were the only member are deleted right away, with their tasks, history and achievements, along with your invitations.
If you were in a shared household, the household keeps existing for the others: you leave it, your member card is deleted and the entries you made stay in the household’s history under “former member”, with nothing that identifies you.
A guest account that was never linked to Google can’t be associated with any person. If you uninstall the app without deleting it, its data remains on the server with no way to recover it. So, if you want it gone, use Delete account and data before uninstalling. More details in Delete your account and data.
Children
The app is intended for people aged 14 and over. If you are younger, you need the consent of your parent or guardian to use it.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is stored encrypted on Google’s servers. Access rules prevent anyone outside your household from reading or changing your garden, and only Google profile photos are accepted so that an image can’t be used to track other members.
Your rights
You can access, rectify and erase your data, object to or restrict its processing, and ask for its portability:
- Access and portability: Export backup in Settings gives you your tasks and their history in a JSON file.
- Rectification: you can edit your tasks, your entries, your name and the household’s name in the app.
- Erasure: with Delete account and data in Settings.
- For anything else, write to spinolabss@gmail.com. We’ll reply within one month at most.
If you think we haven’t handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
If you email us, we will use your address only to reply and will keep it for as long as the conversation lasts.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes anything explained here, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date before releasing it. If the change is significant, we’ll let you know in the app.
